According to BILD, the flights to Hawaii in the Erfurt doping affair are said to have involved participation in the Honolulu Marathon:
“Schmidt or one of his helpers flew specially to Hawaii to look after at least one athlete at the Honolulu Marathon in December. With over 30,000 runners, the marathon is one of the ten largest in the world. Triathletes were not among Schmidt's customers”.
