Belfort, France saw recently International Triathlon Union's World Championship in long disctance triathlon. Melissa Hauschildt and Bertrand Billard won, but the adverse weather conditions resulted in the format being altered before the race, with the swim omitted and the course reverting to a 9.5km run, 87km bike and 20km run. Original formal would have included 4km swim, 120km bike and a 30km run. The podium was completed by Camilla Pedersen, Rachel McBride and Terenzo Bozzone, Dirk Bockel.
