Video: ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championship Highlight Show

Belfort, France saw recently International Triathlon Union's World Championship in long disctance triathlon. Melissa Hauschildt and Bertrand Billard won, but the adverse weather conditions resulted in the format being altered before the race, with the swim omitted and the course reverting to a 9.5km run, 87km bike and 20km run. Original formal would have included 4km swim, 120km bike and a 30km run. The podium was completed by Camilla Pedersen, Rachel McBride and Terenzo Bozzone, Dirk Bockel. Shane Facteau World Triathlon Corporation's new Chief Operations Officer

IRONMAN announced today that Shane Facteau has rejoined WTC in the role of Chief Operations Officer. In this newly created position, Facteau oversees all IRONMAN race operations on a global basis, including IRONMAN, IRONMAN 70.3, Iron Girl, IronKids and all other races and race formats. Besides operational delivery of all events on a global basis, Facteau will be deeply involved in WTC’s new race development program. Facteau will sit on the Executive Committee of WTC.

Previously, Facteau served as Vice President, North America Operations for IRONMAN. Facteau joined WTC with the acquisition of North America Sports, where he was responsible for operations of several licensed IRONMAN events.

“Shane has done an outstanding job leading operations for our North American events and we are thrilled to have him join the global IRONMAN team,” said Andrew Messick, Chief Executive Officer of IRONMAN. “Having worked on IRONMAN events for 13 years, I know that Shane is a tremendous leader and will help us continue to expand and improve our events around the world.”
